What we measure

The metrics we monitor to determine where your health stands today—and why.
Why Assess

GET strategic about your health

While people think strategically about most major aspects of their lives, their health often falls through the cracks. At Belong, we want to change that—by extending this critical thinking to manage your health and maximise your healthspan.

We determine where your health stands by measuring aerobic and anaerobic health, mobility and strength, and we work with you to identify your short- and long-term wellness goals. We then custom-design an effective strength and cardiovascular conditioning regimen to help you live life to its fullest.

Key Metrics

FITNESS MARKERS

The following markers indicate if your health is on track and whether you need to make lifestyle changes to control problems that could arise in the future.

We assess your strengths and weaknesses in these areas, and highlight what your personalised training regimen would look like.

  • This section of the assessment records cardiovascular markers (Resting Heart Rate, Triglycerides, Lipoprotein (a)), blood glucose markers (Hemoglobin A1c) and cholesterol markers (Apolipoprotein B).

We refer you to a third party testing service for these metrics.

  • Aerobic health is the body’s ability to effectively use oxygen to metabolize fats, carbohydrates and proteins. In aerobic metabolism, the body’s primary source of fuel is fat. Ensuring we can effectively metabolize this fat allows us to engage in endurance activities for longer.

In this section of the assessment, we measure Zone-2 (the zone during exercise where you are relying largely upon the aerobic energy system, using fat as a fuel source) and VO2 Max (your maximal oxygen consumption) using bike and treadmill ramp tests.

  • During anaerobic training, the body relies primarily on energy sources and metabolic pathways that do not require oxygen. It involves short bursts of high-intensity effort that exceed the body's ability to supply oxygen to the working muscles.

We measure anaerobic capacity using a ramp-up / ramp-down test. This test is performed after a few weeks of aerobic conditioning.

  • Mobility refers to your joints’ ability to move freely and without pain through their full range of motion. It is a crucial component of physical fitness and everyday functionality.

This section of the assessment measures ankle, knee, hip and upper body mobility.

  • Strength refers to your muscles’ ability to generate force or exert power against resistance. It plays a significant role in various aspects of physical performance and is also essential for daily activities.

This section of the assessment measures absolute strength and muscular endurance.
